SUMMARY
Russian forces continued attacks in the east and advanced in the Avdiivka area, in the direction of Ocheretyne.
During the week, Russian military launched several missile strikes on the regional centers of Ukraine (on April 17 – on Chernihiv, on April 19 – on Dnipro), as a result of which dozens of civilians were killed and injured.
The Ukrainian military inflicted several painful blows on the enemy. In particular, on the night of April 17, as a result of a missile strike on an airfield in Dzhankoi, Crimea, several Russian air defense systems were disabled. Also, a Russian Tu-22M3 bomber was destroyed during repelling the missile attack in the morning of April 19.
On April 20, the U.S. House of Representatives voted on a $60.84 billion aid package for Ukraine.
During their meeting in Italy, the G7 Foreign Ministers expressed resolve to significantly strengthen Ukraine's air defense capabilities.
OPERATIONAL SITUATION
Russian troops continue offensive operations in several directions in the eastern sector of the front. In the area of Avdiivka, they managed to advance and reach Ocheretyne. Active fighting also continues in the area of Chasiv Yar near Bakhmut and Novomykhailivka near Maryinka.
